Chasing Beauty

Some people like chasing sunsets, others maybe cars? I like chasing butterflies.

Oh to have a thousand butterflies fly pass me creating a beautiful symphony of colours.

We all seek beauty, we long to find glimpses of the perfect sunset or spy on a beautiful insect. But where is beauty truly to be found.

THE RISEN LORD

She stood there weeping. She would not be comforted. The disciples had witnessed an empty tomb and went home. But Mary Magdalene, stayed on, lingering, and longing to see her Lord, even if it was just His body. Oh how would she cry over Him.

The events of the past days had been harrowing, to see her Lord and Teacher being nailed to a cross, hit her. She had hoped that someone He wouldn’t breath His last, He was the Messiah after all, one who was to save, one who healed and raised the dead, could He not have… prevented all this.

‘Woman, Why are you crying?’ Two angels asked her.

“They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t know where they have put him.”

The fire ranged, the threat was real, Daniel and his friends could have easily averted a disaster if they bowed down to the king. But they only served one King, and would bow down to no other, no matter how much they honoured him.
And so the fiery furnace was where they were to be throwed into.

Hope in the Midst of the Storm

Paul along with Luke was on a boat that had encountered a mighty storm. They had tried all means for survival. They had thrown cargo offboard, they had let go of the ships tackle.

They had exhausted all possible efforts.

But verse 20 of Acts 27 records this

When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days and the storm continued raging, we finally gave up all hope of being saved.
