Persistent Love: When your ‘not good enough’ is still ‘not good enough’

I’m no love expert, but these days, the word ‘love’ has taken up many shapes and forms.

From the flippant – I love Ice Cream, to the idealized ‘love at first sight’ in Korean Dramas, the word love has been thrown around throughout the century, often without much thought.

Love has also been somewhat commoditized. Companies liken buying an insurance protection to an act of sacrificial love for a loved one.

Self-doubt//When you feel like hiding away

No one can ‘agape’ Jesus or God or others unconditionally without the power of the Holy Spirit. We all fall short, we are all sinners needing grace, needing unconditional love to transform us.

Let’s allow the Lord to come and take away that self-doubt by saying gently- its’ true, you can’t – it’s not humanly possible to live or love perfectly. But I have not rejected you – and you can and will continue the journey – not by your own power, but by the Love of God poured out through the Holy Spirit int Your heart.

Choosing Joy

There are many forms of joy. The joy of creating beauty, the joy of receiving a gift, the joy of expressing love.

But there is another kind of joy that if chosen, far outweighs it all. A joy that breaks through the hard ground, hopes in the darkness and sings in the chaos. This joy gives strength when there is not a fibre of your being left to hold on. It is a joy so deep and so fulfilling, because it stems from the very heart of God.

A Mothers Day Post // Deborah

The story of Deborah can be found in Judges 4 and 5. She is termed as a Mother in Israel, one who arose when there was a time of much oppression and difficulty (Judges 5:6-7). Deborah inspires me because she not only knew the time and season she was in, she arose when the time was right and knew exactly what to do!!
