Koala// Rest

Rest. The space between the words. The gap between the lines. The pauses between the paragraphs. The breathing in and breathing out.

Maybe things would be different if we all learned to rest.

And maybe it will shock you if I say the God of the Bible is a God of rest.

In a world where busyness is glorified. Rest is often seen as a luxury… while our phones become a necessity.

Maybe that’s why so many of us are on drugs. We have forgotten the healing power of rest.

The Bible is full of invitations to rest. Jesus in the Bible after entertaining some little children said ‘Come, all you who are weak and heavy laden, and I will give you rest, take My yoke upon you, because I am gentle and lowly and you will find rest for your souls’ (Matthew 11:28)

True rest doesn’t come from some strange Eastern meditation process or an expensive holiday. It comes by trusting the embrace of the one calling us and teaching us our original design. It comes by knowing Christ Your Creator.
