Still Here // Still small voice

light breaking through

Still.

Still here.

I am still here.

That was one of the first time i learned to tune in to Yeshua’s still small voice. After that, a leader came by and affirmed me that the Lord spoke to me today and I was to keep it in my heart.

I always struggled with discerning the voice of God. Battling depression and suicidal thoughts, I was often fighting so much in my brain.

But when the Lord spoke in that still small voice through scripture (God’s inspired word the Bible), it was calming, loving, centreing and what I needed that very moment.

It was a practice done together and we did not empty our minds but rather we focussed our hearts and minds on a bible passage, giving us access to the words of our Maker. For me the words from psalm 37 and psalm 46 jumped at me and resonated with me heart.

‘be still and wait patiently for the Lord’

‘be still and know that I am God’

We often come to God wanting Him to like appear right in front of us or come in thunder and lightning. Or we want instant blessing.

But when a famous prophet in the bible was seeking God, God spoke not through thunder and lightning but in a still small voice as He waited patiently before God.

For me the still small voice was giving me the assurance that God had not left me although He felt distant in what I was going through.

Today, why not allow God to speak to you through His word? In a still small voice, through a passage that may resonate with you ?

God never despises a genuine seeker, but the surest way to know His voice is through His word. When we want to get to know someone we listen to their words. The Author of the Universe speaks through many ways, including nature. But one of the most proven way is through His word.

Why not read the Bible today, take time to listen to His still small voice, and find your life changes by Him?
