Wildflowers // Thrive

Here in our world live feisty little blossoms called wildflowers. Fighting for life in areas most unlikely and unheard of., they grow where they find themselves scattered. Against all odds. Surfacing through cracks and drains and messy patches of weeds.

Not waiting for the perfect environment or the perfect conditions to be found, they grow and bloom where they are. 

And somehow in their own little way, bring beauty to places no one thought beauty could be found.

No one really tends to them or offers them added artificial support. They trust the sun and the rain and the Creator to sustain them. And when nutrients are scarce they have learnt to dig deep.

Sometimes they look up and see the towering rose and almost feel envious. But then they realise that as a wildflower they offer beauty and comfort like no one else can. Joy to the unlikely passer-by; comfort to the young lady whose heart has been broken; hope to the young student at his wits end; and a gift of love for the poor man wanting to surprise his wife on her birthday.

They soon know that they have a purpose where they are beyond what roses can bring. That they can bring joy, comfort and a little more peace to a war torn world. A symbol of hope beyond the discouragement and disappointment and challenge. And a reminder that you and I can and will not only survive but thrive. 

Today I bless you with the grace and tenacity of a wildflower, growing where you are planted whatever the challenges. In spite of your environment, may you offer beauty to those passing by. And may you always find yourself looking up to the Creator to tend you as you push through hard cracks of life.
